Mercer County, NJ — June 1, 2023, Daijah McKithen was killed following a dump truck accident at around 12:00 p.m. at a gas station off Brunswick Pike.

Authorities surrounding the Lawrence Township area were called to the scene at the Shell station off the corner of Franklin Corner Road and Brunswick Pike (Route 1).

According to initial details in reports, 18-year-old Daijah McKithen was traveling through the intersection in a car when it somehow crossed paths with a dump truck. As a result, the two vehicles collided, sending both vehicles off-road. There, they careened into a gas pump outside the Shell station.

Due to the collision, McKithen sustained injuries which ultimately proved fatal. It appears the driver of the dump truck, unidentified at this time, did not have life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Currently, the factors leading up to the collision are still under investigation. Additional details are pending investigations.
