Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One thing to consider following any motorcycle wreck is the fact a lot of people are going to be predisposed to blaming motorcyclists. Even in situations where it might seem clear that a rider was the victim, people’s negative biases can lead them to believe the rider must have done something wrong. I’ve had to overcome this bias plenty throughout my career, and it’s entirely doable. It’s just that it takes a lot of clear evidence and convincing, something that a simple police report can’t always offer on its own. That’s why finding a resolution to these situations often requires exploring avenues beyond just relying on the authorities.
