UPDATE (August 23, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify a few of the details concerning this incident. According to these reports, 69-year-old Ruth Snoddy and 50-year-old Crystal Nagle were both traveling in the Outlander. The westbound Subaru was occupied by a 38-year-old man. The head-on impact between the two vehicles led to the Subaru overturning, coming to a stop resting on its roof. While Nagle suffered fatal injuries due to the wreck, both Snoddy and the man from the Subaru sustained serious injuries. They were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Currently, authorities say they believe the driver of the Subaru was under the influence of alcohol. If that’s true, were they drinking at a nearby establishment? Too often, authorities have a narrow focus when looking into these accidents. Understandably, they’re keen to see drunk drivers held accountable, but in Texas, alcohol providers can also be responsible when they contribute to a serious accident.
It’s illegal for bars and other alcohol providers to serve someone who is obviously intoxicated. Doing so exposes them to potential criminal investigations, fines, suspended licenses, and liability for the resulting injuries. So if authorities fail to look into that possibility, they’re potentially letting a wrongdoer off the hook. Having handled hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers, it’s far too common that they’re only held accountable because victims and families happen to seek opinions independent from the authorities. My hope is that investigators here have been more thorough to ensure there is full accountable for any mistakes that led to this accident.
Coryell County, TX — June 3, 2024, Crystal Anne Nagle was killed following a head-on car accident shortly before 9:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 84.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Crystal Anne Nagle was traveling in an eastbound Mitsubishi Outlander SUV on U.S. Highway 84 in the vicinity of the Farm to Market 1829 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a westbound Subaru on the highway failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left of center, entering the eastbound lane of the highway. There, it was involved in a head-on collision with the oncoming SUV. Nagle suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash; she was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
