Fort Bend County, TX — August 25, 2024, Conrado Villarreal and one other were injured following a car accident at around 6:00 p.m. along F.M. 1994.
According to preliminary details, the accident happened in the area of the F.M. 1994/Guy-Long Point Road and Brumbelow, just outside of Needville.

Investigators said that 62-year-old Conrado Villarreal was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going southbound along F.M. 1994. While crossing Brumbelow, a westbound pickup reportedly ran the stop sign, striking Villarreal. The pickup then ran off-road where it overturned. Both Villarreal and a passenger from the pickup were seriously injured in the crash.

At this time, details say that the driver of the pickup may have been drinking prior to the crash. If that driver was intoxicated, that may not make things as open-and-shut as people might think. With any alcohol-related accident, it’s important to know where the driver got their alcohol from. Alcohol providers can also be responsible for an accident if it was the result of someone who they unlawfully over-served. Criminal investigations, fines, license suspensions, and even liability for resulting injuries are on the table for negligent alcohol providers here in Texas.
That’s why it often surprises people that they’ve never heard about this area of the law. Shouldn’t it be common for alcohol providers to be held accountable? Unfortunately, it’s just not something authorities tend to focus on all that much. If there’s a driver facing charges, they tend to just move on. That then leaves victims and families to happen upon these alternative avenues if they’re going to see a negligent alcohol provider who harmed them held accountable for their actions. That’s why I always wonder if accidents like the one described here are really being handled properly by investigators.
