Riley County, KS — July 19, 2023, Cole Story was injured as the result of a single-vehicle dump truck accident that happened at 12:30 p.m. on Highway 18.
According to initial details about the crash from the Kansas Highway Patrol, it happened in the area of the Highway 18 and Moore’s Lane intersection.
Investigators told news outlets that 25-year-old Cole Story of Wichita was in a Kenworth dump truck that was traveling westbound along the highway. For reasons which are not clear at this time, the vehicle went off the right side of the road. The truck then veered back across the roadway and ran off-road where it overturned.
Story was taken to a hospital after the crash with injuries that were not specified. There was no indication of anyone else being hurt. Currently, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
