Hunt County, TX — January 15, 2024, Clinton Edwards was killed as the result of an ATV accident at around 5:15 p.m. along Brookfield Drive.
Authorities said in initial statements that the crash happened just off County Road 3505 in an area several miles north of Quinlan and east of Highway 34.

According to officials, 42-year-old Clinton Edwards was on an Arctic Cat Alterra 4-wheeler traveling southbound on Brookfield Drive. For reasons unconfirmed right now, the ATV lost control and overturned, ejecting Edwards. As a result, Edwards sustained fatal injuries. No one else appeared to have been involved.

What makes a crash like this so challenging is simply that it’s not a typical vehicle. Authorities have enough on their plates as is with normal car accidents. It doesn’t leave much room for them to have the tools and training for less common vehicles. That’s how things like manufacturing defects, for example, slip through the cracks. Were investigators able to look into that sort of thing here, or at least find an independent investigator who could? The last thing any family needs after losing a loved one is to not know if they’re getting the full story.
