According to officials, 34-year-old Cinthia Barragan was driving a Jeep Compass westbound along the highway. Three minors were in the vehicle—ages 16, 13, and 9. At the intersection, it appears that an oncoming Chrysler PT Cruiser allegedly turned left through a red light, causing the Jeep and the Chrysler to collide.

Details say two of the minors in Barragan’s vehicle had incapacitating injuries while the third had apparently non-incapacitating injuries. Barragan did not have any reported injuries, nor did the Chrysler driver. Authorities said the Chrysler driver possibly had alcohol prior to the crash, but nothing further has been confirmed at this time.
