Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When accidents like this happen, it’s easy for people to assume they result from simple mistakes or bad timing. However, based on my experience, crashes involving large trucks and passenger vehicles are rarely straightforward and require a thorough investigation. This collision on State Highway 6 is no exception.
Investigators will need to explore several possibilities to determine why the truck entered the intersection unsafely. Was the driver distracted, fatigued, or did they fail to see the stop sign? Mechanical issues, such as faulty brakes, or poor visibility at the intersection, could have also played a role in the crash. Each of these factors must be thoroughly examined to uncover what really led to the collision.
If the Volvo truck was operating under a commercial company, it’s essential to investigate whether the company followed proper safety protocols. This includes ensuring the driver was adequately trained and the vehicle was properly maintained. Commercial trucking companies are held to strict standards, and any lapses in their safety practices could point to shared responsibility for the wreck.
Ultimately, the goal is to uncover the truth and provide answers to those affected by the crash. Even if it requires conducting an independent investigation to gather vital evidence, it is crucial to consider every factor to ensure that those impacted by the accident receive the clarity and closure they deserve.
