With a crash like this, it’s important to find out exactly how visible and avoidable the victim was along the roadway. If a vehicle had “mechanical issues,” it’s possible for the vehicle to be left without power. With no way of illuminating the vehicle, it’s understandable that an approaching driver paying attention and going at reasonable speeds wouldn’t be able to react in time to avoid a collision.

But if evidence shows the victim turned on their hazards or otherwise made the disabled vehicle visible, it would raise serious questions about the behavior of the other driver who crashed into the disabled vehicle. Have authorities been able to get clear answers, or does the family still only know what little information is currently public?
