Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to single vehicle wrecks like this, my concern is generally whether or not it’s being investigated properly. They’re not often seen as a high priority for the authorities, so they sometimes are quick to move on before they know all of the facts.
For example, I had a case not long ago where someone had a defective seatbelt that authorities overlooked. It wasn’t something they were equipped to look into at all, and they ultimately actually accused the victim of not wearing their seatbelt. It took more thorough independent investigations to set the record straight. Maybe nothing like that happened here, but it would be far from the first time if it was found authorities didn’t really give this incident the attention it deserves.
