Christina Castillo, Children Injured in Truck Accident in Brownsville, TX

According to officials, 51-year-old Christina Castillo and two children were in a Toyota Tundra that was said to be going southbound along the highway. Authorities say that a Freightliner was “at a complete stop” along the left shoulder of the roadway. Approaching that truck and an 18-wheeler, it appears the Tundra somehow went onto the left shoulder where it crashed into the back of the stopped truck.

As a result of that collision, Castillo succumbed to fatal injuries. The 12-year-old in the Toyota was said to have incapacitating injuries while the other child, 10 years old, reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries. The driver of the stopped truck also reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries.

At this time, there are no other details about the crash that can be confirmed.
