Galveston, TX — June 7, 2023, Charles Green Ray was injured by an alleged drunk driver around 3:02 a.m. on Seawall Blvd. in Galveston.
According to authorities, Mr. Ray was sitting on a bus stop bench on the northern side of Seawall Blvd. when a westbound Chevy Malibu allegedly veered off the road towards its passenger side and collided with Charles Ray and the bench.
The Malibu was allegedly forced back onto Seawall Blvd. and came to a stop partially in the center median with its nose pointing south.
Mr. Ray was purportedly taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The two occupants in the Malibu were reportedly uninjured. Police recommended charging the driver with driving while intoxicated and intoxication assault.
