Comanche County, TX — March 23, 2024, Celia Meza and two others were injured after a truck accident at around 7:25 p.m. along US Highway 67.
Authorities said in initial statements that the crash took place near Highway 36 on the east side of town.
Details say that a Ford F-350 was traveling west on US Highway 67. The driver of the Ford F-350 attempted to turn left when it crossed into the path of an eastbound Jeep Wrangler driven by Celia Meza, age 31. The Jeep Wrangler collided with the right passenger side of the Ford F-350.
Celia Meza and a 16-year-old female passenger in the Jeep Wrangler sustained serious injuries. Additionally, a 24-year-old passenger in the Ford F-350 sustained serious injuries. Right now, other details cannot be confirmed.

To be rather blunt, there are few reasons for something like this to happen without the driver making the turn failing to yield—often due to something like distracted driving. I’d wait for all the facts before drawing any conclusions, of course, but I have to wonder what steps are being taken to truly get to the bottom of this.
For example, I recall a case from a while back where a driver pulled out in front of someone, causing a serious accident. Police say that driver was texting and driving—which he was. But they overlooked something important. The man was in a company vehicle, and he was texting his supervisor. This supervisor was such a micromanager that he hounded workers all day with calls and texts. If they didn’t respond immediately, they actually risked losing their job. Inevitably and predictably, this led to an employee, just trying to appease their unreasonable boss, to make a mistake behind the wheel.
At the end of the day, it’s about understanding the big picture. The victims and families I’ve worked with over the years wouldn’t have been satisfied just pinning the blame on one person when the facts showed there were multiple bad actors involve. That’s why always knowing the full story is so crucial, even if it’s just to rule out extenuating circumstances.
