Midland, TX — December 5, 2023, Carlos Enrique Soto was killed and two others were injured in a car accident around 2:15 a.m. along N. Fairgrounds Road.
According to reports, Carlos Enrique Soto—age 34—was traveling in a northbound GMC pickup truck along Fairgrounds Road approaching the Wadley Avenue intersection when the accident took place.
For unknown reasons, the pickup veered off of the side of the road and collided with a traffic light pole at the intersection before coming to a stop in the roadway. A Ford Fusion which had been heading south on Fairgrounds road collided with the disabled pickup. Soto was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. The two occupants of the Ford Fusion were reportedly injured, as well; they were transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive treatment.
The cause of the accident is still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not reported on. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
