In further statements, authorities alleged that the 19-year-old driver of the Camaro was under the influence of alcohol. If that’s true, how’d they get the alcohol? Any drunk driving wreck warrants investigations into the possibility the driver was illegally over-served, as those alcohol providers can face consequences for doing so. But when there’s a possibility some local establishment served alcohol to someone who was underage—knowingly or not—they need to be called out. An alcohol provider like that rarely breaks the law on a fluke. They usually have a pattern of reckless behavior that needs to be corrected before more people get hurt. Is that something authorities are looking into?
