San Antonio, TX — February 8, 2024, three people were injured in a car accident that took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. along Loop 410.
According to authorities, a 39-year-old man who had been working as a Highway Emergency Response Operator had just reentered his work vehicle on the left shoulder of Loop 410 in the vicinity west of Broadway Street when the accident occurred.

Reports state that the emergency board light on the back of the H.E.R.O. vehicle was activated, though roadway restrictions had just been removed. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a westbound Toyota Camry failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly drifted into the left shoulder where it collided with the back of the parked vehicle.
The 39-year-old man from the work vehicle and a 40-year-old woman from the Toyota incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash. A 7-year-old boy who had also been in the Toyota sustained apparently moderate injuries, as well. All three were transported to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
