Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

While any crash is going to involve its own complex factors, it should be noted that the only person with reported injuries here was a passenger along for the ride. In those situations, it only makes it that much more important to consider the actions of all drivers involved and whether or not the accident may have happened due to mistakes from multiple people.

How fast were vehicles going? Did someone fail to yield? Was lighting an issue? Did distracted driving lead to the accident? Was alcohol involved? Did worn tires or brakes prevent a vehicle from stopping in time to avoid a collision? These can all happen from multiple sources, which means there could be more than one person who bears a portion of responsibility for the same accident. Maybe authorities have looked into that here, but it’s the sort of thing they sometimes overlook.
