Batavia, NY — January 7, 2025, two people were injured in a car accident at about 7:15 a.m. on Ellicott Avenue.
Authorities said an SUV crashed into a parked garbage truck, striking two workers outside the truck, after the driver apparently suffered some kind of medical issue.
The workers were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to authorities. They work for Casella Waste Systems.
The SUV driver was hospitalized for precautionary reasons, authorities said. She was cited for failing to keep right.
Authorities have not released the names of those involved in the accident or any additional details about the crash.
