Cameron Michael Hicks, 1 Injured in Police Car Accident in Oak Point, TX

Details said that 24-year-old Cameron Hicks and a woman, also 24, were on a Honda motorcycle which was reportedly southbound along Wildridge. Along northbound lanes, authorities say an officer in a patrol car was traveling “with his headlights and parking lights off,” saying the officer was on “routine patrol.” There was no specific reason given for the police vehicle’s lights being off.

Authorities say that the officer pulled across both lanes after seeing the approaching motorcycle and activated their emergency lights, possibly to stop the motorcycle for what authorities called a “no passing zone.” As a result, Hicks’s motorcycle crashed into the patrol car, ejecting both Hicks and the woman.

Hicks and his passenger reportedly sustained incapacitating injuries as a result of the accident. The officer had no listed injuries. Right now, there are no further details that can be confirmed.
