Calhoun County, TX — October 20, 2024, Alva “Butch” Stringham was killed due to a car accident at around 1:00 a.m. on Commerce Street.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened just off the U.S. 87 and Commerce Street intersection.
According to officials, 54-year-old Butch Stringham was outside of a vehicle along Commerce Street. Right now, the circumstances surrounding what happened are unclear, but Stringham ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries. It’s unclear at this time if anyone else was involved in the accident. Investigations are ongoing.

It’s not unusual for there to be so few details publicly available about a fatal accident. However, people tend to assume authorities are more thorough behind the scenes with the victim’s loved ones. That’s not always true. Sometimes, authorities come up short, and it’s not clear until families realize the answers they’;re getting aren’t really adding up. That’s why it can be helpful for folks to consider if their doubts and questions are being adequately addressed. If so, authorities are likely being thorough. If not, then it could be authorities alone aren’t going to get the full story.
