With rural single-vehicle wrecks like this, it’s important to find out just how thorough authorities were in their investigations. It would surprise folks how often I get calls from people who received incomplete reports or felt authorities had no interest in hearing their side of the story. That’s why it can be helpful to ask some key questions to gauge just how seriously authorities are taking investigations.

For example, did investigators take the time to consider all possible contributing factors? Poor road conditions, visibility issues, or even wildlife in the area could have played a role. If authorities assume the crash was solely due to rider error, they may overlook critical details.

Did they check for potential vehicle defects? Brake failures, steering malfunctions, or even tire defects can lead to a loss of control. Without a proper inspection, those factors might go unnoticed.

Are authorities gathering all available electronic data? Nearby security or traffic cameras may have captured footage of the accident, and cell phone records could provide insight into what was happening before the crash. If officials don’t secure this evidence quickly, it may be lost.

If authorities have clear responses to these concerns, it’s likely that their investigations have been thorough and extensive. But if they leave people with doubts, that may be a sign they moved on to other responsibilities without really getting the whole story. That’s when people can decide if they’d feel more comfortable having someone take another look at the details to make sure nothing important slipped through the cracks.
