Single-vehicle accidents can be challenging enough if authorities don’t treat them as a high priority—an issue I encounter all too often when looking into cases. On top of that, though, they aren’t always equipped to handle commercial vehicle accidents, either.

Those can bring up questions about company history, maintenance records, work hours, standard practices and safety procedures, etc. Any experienced trucker will attest to the fact that some companies out there put their own workers in danger through reckless practices.

So if authorities are taking the time to look into all of this, that’s a good sign. But if it seems they’re just treating all of this like some run-of-the-mill car wreck, they could be missing something crucial.
