Kane County, IL — October 23, 2023, Deputy Brian Anderson was injured in a head-on truck accident just before 7:00 a.m. along Illinois Rout 47.
Reports indicate that 33-year-old Deputy Brian Anderson was heading south on I.R. 47 in his Kane County Sheriff’s squad car just south of Plank Road when the incident occurred.
According to authorities, a Dodge Ram pickup truck which was hauling a trailer was traveling north on I.R. 47 when it was forced to come to a stop due to traffic conditions. However, the truck and trailer were unable to come to a complete stop, swerving into the oncoming southbound traffic resulting in a head-on collision with Deputy Anderson’s vehicle.
As a result of the incident, Deputy Anderson suffered more than one leg fracture and was transferred to a local hospital for treatment after the arrival of emergency medical services. He was reportedly stable, but still in critical condition. The driver and two passengers of the Dodge also suffered injuries and were all transported to a different hospital. The incident is under an ongoing investigation. No further details are available at this time.
