Orange County, TX — July 29, 2023, Brenton Vaughan was killed following a semi-truck accident along Highway 62 at around 3:45 a.m.
Initial details about the crash from Texas Department of Public Safety officials say that the accident happened just outside the Pilot Travel Center located near the intersection of Highway 62 and I-10.
According to investigators, 30-year-old Brenton Vaughan was in a Dodge Challenger traveling southbound along Highway 62. While passing the Pilot station, police say that a tractor-trailer was pulling out of the station lot onto the highway. In doing so, Vaughan’s car crashed into the semi-trailer.
Vaughan sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. There were no other reported injuries. Currently, it’s unclear if authorities are considering charges against the truck driver. No further information can be confirmed pending investigations.
