Leander, TX — April 15, 2024, Brendan Kayle Johnson was killed in a motorcycle versus van accident shortly before 6:15 p.m. along U.S. 183.
According to authorities, 29-year-old Leander man Brendan Johnson was traveling on a southbound Honda motorcycle along U.S. Highway 183 approaching the Sheila Drive intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound van on Sheila Drive attempted a left turn onto northbound U.S. 183 at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to southbound traffic. This resulted in a collision between the motorcycle and the back-left side of the van.
Despite life-saving measures attempted at the scene, Johnson reportedly succumbed to the fatal injuries incurred during the accident. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
