Petersburg, VA — July 19, 2023, one person sustained injuries as the result of a multi-vehicle truck accident at around 8:30 p.m. along I-95.
According to initial reports given by the Virginia State Police, the crash happened in the area of southbound I-95 mile marker 50, just outside of Petersburg.
Right now, the exact cause of the crash has yet to be confirmed. Details suggest that the events happened after a box truck going along the interstate somehow lost control. The vehicle then over-corrected, causing it to swerve into a concrete barrier and a Honda sedan. Debris from the impact apparently struck two additional vehicles.
As a result of the collision, one person was taken to a hospital with injuries that were described in reports as non-life-threatening. It’s not clear at this time who was hurt. There were no other confirmed injuries. Details regarding possible charges or citations also are unclear at this time.
