Lewiston, ME — June 8, 2023, a woman was injured as the result of a box truck accident at around 5:15 a.m. along Lisbon Street.
Preliminary information about the truck accident has been released by Lewiston Police officials. Their details say that the crash happened off the corner of the Lisbon Street and Prospect Avenue intersection.
According to investigators, the events began after a box truck going along Lisbon Street somehow clipped power lines, and the utility pole snapped, downing the lines. Emergency crews were reportedly on scene afterward to remove the lines and the pole from the roadway. At the time, the pole was apparently being “towed away” when a car crashed into the pole.
As a result of that collision with the pole, the woman in the car sustained injuries described as serious. That person continues to recover at this time. There were no other reported injuries. Currently, no further information about the accident is available as investigations continue.
