Ware County, GA — June 22, 2023, Bobby “Blue” Smith was killed when his fire truck overturned on the way to an emergency around 12:40 p.m. on Manor-Millwood Rd. in Ware County.
Authorities report the driver of the firetruck somehow lost control of the vehicle while it was southbound on Manor-Millwood Rd. The truck allegedly overturned after veering toward the passenger side. Sources say the fire truck began to rotate counter-clockwise, flipped several times, struck a tree, and came to rest on its passenger side.
Mr. Smith was reportedly a passenger in the front seat of the truck. He suffered fatal injuries. Authorities have not released if anyone else was injured in the crash.
Reports indicate authorities have not determined the cause of the crash.
