Hale County, TX — June 4, 2024, Bob Herrington was injured in a pedestrian versus wheel-off car accident at approximately 6:30 p.m. along I.H. 27.
According to authorities, a Chevrolet Astro van hauling a trailer was traveling northbound on the east service road for Interstate Highway 27 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the back right tire came off of the van, traveling northward onto private property where it struck two fences and a storage shed before colliding with 82-year-old Bob Herrington, who had been on foot in the area.
Herrington suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
