Irving, TX — December 6, 2023, one person was injured following a bicycle versus car accident at around 2:30 p.m. on Shady Grove Road.
Preliminary information about the accident indicates that it happened in the area of the West Shady Grove Road and Franklin Street intersection.
According to officials, a 69-year-old man was on a bicycle which was reportedly traveling westbound along the sidewalk off of Shady Grove. The bicycle apparently entered lanes of travel as a westbound Chevy Silverado was passing, and this resulted in the bicycle and the pickup colliding.
The bicyclist reportedly sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. No one in the vehicle was hurt. Details suggest the driver of the pickup remained at the scene and spoke with authorities, and no charges or citations have been reported at this time.
