Orangeburg County, SC — May 7, 2023, one person was fatally injured as the result of a tractor-trailer accident late Saturday along Highway 389.
Preliminary details provided by the South Carolina Highway Patrol indicated that the crash took place just before midnight in the area of Neeses near the intersection of Ninety 6 Road and Iris Lane.
According to investigators, a man was riding on an ATV along Highway 389. Due to a series of events not currently clear, a southbound tractor-trailer crossed paths and collided with the ATV. The collision threw the ATV rider off the vehicle.
That man, who has not been publicly identified at this time, was taken to a hospital for treatment. His injuries ultimately proved fatal. No other injuries were mentioned in reports. Right now, a particular cause for the crash is still under investigation.
