Harris County, TX — May 10, 2024, Athziry Pegoda was injured due to a single-vehicle car accident at around 9:45 p.m. along Bellchase Drive.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash took place in the Spring area off the corner of the Bellchase Drive and Long Hill Lane.
According to officials, 30-year-old Athziry Pegoda was in a Ford F-150 pickup going eastbound along Bellchase. Reportedly while attempting a u-turn, the vehicle somehow traveled off the side of the road where it crashed into a tree outside of a residence. Due to this, Pegoda sustained serious injuries. No one else appeared to have been involved.

I have to wonder if there’s more to the story authorities may not be considering. Single-vehicle wrecks don’t always get the attention they deserve. A lot of the time, authorities just move on without really getting all the facts. Other times, they may jump to conclusions without letting the evidence speak for itself. Whether this crash happened for typical reasons or for unusual reasons that require more thorough investigations, it’s important to ensure investigations into serious car accidents are in the hands of accident reconstructionists who will actually be able to consider all possibilities.
