When it comes to a cargo shift like this, there are a lot more moving parts than in a typical incident. There are the workers securing the load, there may be truck drivers unrelated to whatever company load the cargo, equipment securing the cargo may be defective or worn, etc. On top of that, Texas work fatality law is inherently more complex than in other states due to the fact not every incident is covered by workers’ comp. Families, then, may end up in a situation where they need independent investigators working to get answers and prepare for a tricky legal maze. That’s why taking steps early on to anticipate these potential challenges generally puts families in the best spot to get a resolution that’s fair and best meets their needs.
