Sherman, TX — August 28, 2024, two children were killed in a drowning accident that happened at an apartment complex off Washington Street.
According to officials, the incident happened at the Ridgeview Apartments near the intersection of West Washington Street and F.M. 1417.
Investigators said that they were called to the apartment complex where two twin 3-year-old girls were unresponsive. Both girls reportedly died due to drowning. Currently, there are no additional details about what led to the incident. Investigations are ongoing.

Every summer, stories like these are unfortunately common. That’s why it’s so important to understand what all goes into these investigations. People often forget that among things like supervision of the kids, investigators also need to consider the conditions of the property. Was the pool fenced off? Did it have a properly latching gate? Were there any exposed electrical wires in the vicinity of the pool? Likely or not, these factors have contributed to accidents before. They need to be part of the investigations if there’s going to be a full account of what went wrong.
