Midland, TX — December 29, 2025, Anthony Morris Sr., Amber Brackens, and three children were injured in an alleged DWI accident at 2:38 a.m. on Wadley Ave.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of the Wadley Avenue and Barber Street intersection.
Investigators said that 54-year-old Anthony Morris Sr., 34-year-old Amber Brackens, and three children were in a Lincoln traveling northbound. A Chevy Silverado was going eastbound. For reasons unclear, the vehicles collided.
One of the children in the Lincoln had reportedly serious injuries. Anthony Morris, Amber Brackens, and the other two children had minor injuries. Authorities say they charged the Chevy driver for DWI. No further information is available right now.

Anytime charges for driving while intoxicated come up, people tend to see them as a sign that a crash is open-and-shut. But a lot of the time, DWI charges are just part of the larger story. If, for example, authorities determined that alcohol caused the crash, where did the alcohol come from?
In Texas, bars and other establishments can also be responsible for a crash if they unlawfully over-served someone, and that person’s intoxication led to people getting hurt. Too often, though, this goes completely overlooked. I can’t count how many times a family called us about an intoxicated driver accident, and we found out authorities never bothered looking into the possibility the driver had been over-served. Hopefully authorities here have been more thorough.
