Collin County, TX — April 4, 2024, Andrea Kima and one other person were injured in a car accident just after 12:00 noon along Independence Parkway.
According to authorities, 42-year-old Andrea Kima was traveling in a southbound Honda van on Independence Parkway approaching the Crickett Drive intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Volkswagen Beetle occupied by a 19-year-old woman at a stop sign on Crickett Drive entered the intersection in an attempt to turn north on Independence Parkway at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to southbound traffic. This resulted in a T-bone collision between the left side of the Beetle and the front-end of the Honda.
Kima incurred suspected severe injuries due to the wreck; the woman from the Beetle sustained apparently moderate injuries, as well. Both were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
