San Antonio, TX — January 12, 2024, Amanda Elmore and one other were injured in a possible hit-and-run accident around 3:00 a.m. on a Austin Highway.
According to current statements on the crash, it happened in the area of Austin Highway and Ira Lee Road.
It appears 21-year-old Amanda Elmore and a 24-year-old man were in a Ford Mustang going eastbound along the highway. Details suggest another vehicle was going the wrong way on the eastbound lane, and the Ford hit the side wall trying to avoid that vehicle. The Ford then ran off-road where it overturned. The other vehicle in question reportedly left the scene.
Both Elmore and the passenger in the Ford had injuries described as serious. No identity was given for the other driver, and a description for that vehicle isn’t available right now.

If it’s true that someone caused all this and fled the scene, I’d hope to see authorities release as much information as possible. The public can usually help connect the dots, leading to that person’s arrest. That’s especially important considering possibilities like a reckless driver or a negligent alcohol provider who over-served that driver continuing to put the community in danger.
