No additional details are currently confirmed, but details suggest authorities identified the alleged runaway driver. They also mentioned that driver may have been drinking prior to the accident. Frankly, it wouldn’t be surprising if that were true. It’s a common reason for drivers to flee an accident scene. That could bring up even more complex issues if details show the driver was illegally over-served, as well. All in all, it seems there is still a lot more work to be done before there’s a proper resolution for the victim’s loved ones.


Houston, TX — August 1, 2024, one person was killed following a motorcycle versus hit-and-run car accident shortly after 11:30 p.m. along Mesa Drive.

According to authorities, a motorcyclist was at a stop due to a red light indicated by a traffic signal on northbound Mesa Drive in the vicinity of Beaumont Highway when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a grey Kia failed to stop for the red light, colliding with the rear-end of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. The person who had been behind the wheel of the Kia reportedly fled the scene on foot. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
