If the allegations here are true, then it’s incredibly concerning to see claims that a teenager was under the influence of alcohol. It raises serious questions about where that alcohol came from and whether or not there’s an accomplice who also contributed to this accident. That’s not just about potential individuals in this young driver’s life who may have provided the alcohol. I’ve handled hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers for their role in serious accidents. There’s no shortage of bars, restaurants, and stores willing to serve underage drinkers or who otherwise don’t bother verifying someone’s age before serving them. If that happened here, there may yet be steps to take to ensure there is accountability for what happened here.
