Gonzales County, TX — June 8, 2023, Allen Groff was killed as the result of a tractor-trailer accident at around 5:55 a.m. along U.S. Highway 90.
According to information released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash happened in the area of the U.S. 90 and F.M. 304 intersection.
Details suggest that 67-year-old Allen Groff was in a tractor-=trailer that was going eastbound along the highway. At the intersection, authorities say that a Nissan traveling on F.M. 304 did not yield to Groff’s truck. As a result, Groff swerved to avoid the Nissan, but the vehicles collided. The tractor-trailer continued onto the shoulder and overturned.
As a result of the collision, Groff ultimately succumbed to fatal injuries. Approximately three people from the Nissan had injuries, at least one of which required air transportation to a hospital. There is no further information that can be confirmed at this time pending further investigations.
