Lubbock, TX — June 28, 2023, three people were injured following an alleged intoxicated driving accident at around 7:30 p.m. on 39th Street.
Authorities with the Lubbock Police Department said they were called out to the area of the 39th Street and Avenue U intersection. The crash involved a driver that was reportedly speeding when it ran a stop sign, resulting in a serious crash.
As a result of the collision, three people were said to be injured. One of those people apparently had serious injuries while the other two had injuries described as moderate.
The driver who allegedly ran the stop sign also is alleged to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. Authorities currently say there are pending charges for intoxication assault with a vehicle, speeding, and failure to stop at a stop sign. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
