Investigators said that a 47-year-old woman was a passenger in a Toyota Camry going northbound on Westwind Drive. In a series of events unclear, the vehicle somehow lost control and crashed. Authorities allege that the driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.

Regardless of what happened here, there’s a common concern across just about all serious accidents. Authorities sometimes put too much focus on looking for blame. Obviously, accountability is important. But it’s also important to focus on those hurt in the crash and what comes next for them. Those paths don’t always overlap, which means it can be important for serious accidents to receive investigations thorough enough to determine not only why a crash happened but why the victim’s injuries happened.
