Fort Worth, TX — July 13, 2024, a woman was injured following an alleged drunk driver accident at around 2:50 a.m. along Roberts Cut Off Road.
Investigators said in their initial statements that the accident took place in the area of the Roberts Cut Off Road and Barbara Road intersection.

According to officials, two women, both 21, were in a Kia Forte going northbound on Roberts Cut Off. The vehicle apparently veered off the right side of the roadway where it then crashed into a pole. As a result, the passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries. The driver apparently wasn’t hurt.

Authorities allege that the driver of the vehicle had been drinking and recommended a charge for intoxication assault. I’m not here to comment on those specific charges, but rather there is often more to accidents like the one described here than even authorities pay attention to.
After any drunk driving crash, it’s important to find out if the driver was illegally over-served by a local alcohol provider, such as a bar or club. Those establishments can be responsible of serving someone who was obviously intoxicated, and that can open them up to potential criminal investigations, fines, license suspensions, or even liability for the victims’ resulting injuries.
In my experience with hundreds of cases against negligent alcohol providers, it’s unfortunately not likely authorities address that issue on their own. It often takes victims and families demanding more thorough investigations before those steps are taken, and only then is there actually full accountability for the mistakes that led to the crash. Maybe evidence will show that isn’t a factor in this particular crash, but that’s going to be up to more thorough investigations.
