UPDATE (August 3, 2023): In recent reports, authorities say that the truck driver allegedly involved in the accident turned themselves in to police following released warrants for felony leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and failure to yield. The proceedings are ongoing at this time.
Fort Smith, AR — July 29, 2023, Allan Hickman III was killed and Jesse Lavielle was injured following a truck accident at 6:11 p.m. on Midland Boulevard.
Authorities with the Arkansas Department of Public Safety released preliminary details about the crash. They say that it took place at the intersection of Midland Boulevard and North Street.

According to current information from police officials, 53-year-old Jesse Lavielle and 21-year-old Allan Hickman III were on a Harley Davidson that was reportedly traveling southbound along Midland Boulevard. At the Front Street intersection, authorities say that a northbound Ford F-550 attempted to make a left turn off of Midland. Doing so, it entered the path of the motorcycle, and the vehicles collided.
Hickman and Lavielle were thrown from the bike, resulting in Hickman ultimately succumbing to fatal injuries. Lavielle had injuries, though their severity was not specified. It appears the driver of the truck left the scene, though it’s unclear at this time if authorities have located or identified the driver. Investigations are ongoing.
