San Antonio, TX — March 27, 2024, Alison Shanklin was injured following a hit-and-run accident at about 8:10 a.m. on the I.H. 10 southbound access road.
According to authorities, traffic on the access road in the area was slowing to a stop due to a separate accident at the intersection of the access road and Callaghan Road.
Officials indicate that a southbound Chevrolet Malibu failed to appropriately control its speed in the traffic conditions; it reportedly struck the rear-end of a Nissan Altima. The impact pushed the Altima forward into the back of a Nissan occupied by 23-year-old Alison Shanklin. The Nissan was, in turn, pushed forward into the rear-end of a Kia. The Malibu allegedly failed to remain at the scene of the accident.
Shanklin suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck. She was taken to a local medical facility in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
