UPDATE (June 10, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details pertaining to this accident. According to these reports, 27-year-old Alexix Ruben Perez was traveling in a northbound Hyundai Tucson SUV on East Freeway in the vicinity about a half of a mile north of Clinton Drive when the accident took place.
Reports state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the SUV failed to properly control its speed, crashing into the rear-end of a trailer in tow behind an 18-wheeler. The collision caused the SUV to veer to the right and off of the roadway, coming to a stop after also crashing into a tree where it apparently caught on fire.
Perez suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details are not currently available. The investigation is ongoing.
Houston, TX — May 16, 2024, one person was killed following a truck accident at approximately 3:20 a.m. along 610 East Loop.
According to authorities, one person was traveling in northbound motor vehicle on 610 East Loop when the accident occurred.
Preliminary reports state that, for as yet unknown reasons, the vehicle was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler. That collision apparently caused the vehicle to swerve off of the side of the road where it crashed into several trees and caught fire after coming to a stop.
The sole occupant of the vehicle suffered fatal injuries, authorities indicate, and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
