Monticello, UT — May 20, 2023, 21-year-old Alex Way was killed in an 18-wheeler accident on US 191 near Monticello.
Authorities indicate that on May 20, a collision occurred between an SUV and an 18-wheeler on US 191 north of Monticello. According to reports, the fatal head-on collision occurred north of Peters Spring Road, when for unknown reasons, the SUV and the 18-wheeler struck one another head-on.
As a result of the collision, Alex Way, 21, the driver of the SUV, died. The 18-wheeler driver was unharmed, but his truck was destroyed in an ensuing fire. There were no other injuries reported due to the collision or fire.
Investigators have not yet said what caused the vehicles to collide.
