Dayton, NV — April 13, 2023, Alena Persch was killed as the result of an accident where a commercial truck hit her at around 7:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 50.
Authorities with the Nevada State Police reported that the incident happened in the area of Six Mile Canyon Road and Ft. Churchill Road along eastbound lanes of the highway.
Initial statements surrounding the accident say that 49-year-old Alena Persch was walking at the time and apparently attempted to cross the eastbound travel lanes of U.S. Highway 50. While crossing a Peterbilt semi-truck did not avoid Persch in time, striking Persch in the roadway.
As a result of the collision, Persch sustained injuries which proved fatal. No one else appeared to be hurt due to the incident. Authorities did not give additional details about the driver involved, and it’s unclear if authorities considered charges or citations following their investigations. They have not given additional details that can be confirmed at this time.
