People tend to see a stationary vehicle involved in an accident and figure that driver is entirely blameless. However, it’s important to confirm the exact circumstances through careful accident reconstruction. Was the vehicle entirely out of the lanes of travel? Did it have its hazards on? Did the driver stop for a legitimate reason, or for something avoidable? Were there other issues that made the stationary vehicle challenging to avoid? If authorities have asked all these questions, then it’s likely those involved in this crash know they’re getting the whole story. But if it seems they’ve ignored these important questions, they may be missing something important.
