Hidalgo County, TX — April 4, 2023, Agustin Arcos Garcia was killed due to a car accident which occurred along Dillon Road between Edinburg and Weslaco.
Officials with Texas DPS said that the collision occurred along Dillon Road at the intersection of Alberta Road just after midnight.
It appears that 50-year-old Agustin Garcia was in a Buick going southbound along Dillon Road. At Alberta, an oncoming pickup was “going to Alberta Road.” At this time, the Buick apparently went into northbound lanes and crashed into the pickup.
As a result of the collision, Garcia sustained fatal injuries. The other driver’s condition wasn’t specified. Right now, additional details are unavailable.

Something that sticks out to me in these reports is the alleged actions of the vehicles leading up to the collision. The reports say the victim’s vehicle swerved into oncoming lanes. But they also say the other vehicle was “going to Alberta Road.” What did they mean by that? Was the vehicle making a left turn? Did the victim swerve to try and avoid a collision, or was this all just a case of someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time? There are always more details to consider after any fatal crash, but experience tells me there’s a lot more to this story than meets the eye.
